David’s music career began as a drummer touring and recording with various bands and churches. His passion for music carried over into a desire to become studio engineer and producer. In 2008 he took a hiatus from music to enlist in the US Army, he returned back to Detroit, and in 2019 God opened the door for David to study Music and Audio Production at the LA Film School along with Berklee School of Music.
Shortly after he began school he also began an internship, that lead to assisting as an engineer at Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak, MI as an assistant, where he worked alongside, Grammy winning Producer, Al Sutton - Kid Rock, The Sights, Dead String Brothers, Greta Van Fleet, and Dirty Honey. He also worked alongside with producers, Eric Hoegemeyer, Jake Halkey, Michael Bermudez, and Steve Lehane. He has also engineered at Willis Sound, Willis, MI, where he has worked along side, Maurice "Pirahnahead" Herd. In 2023, David opened Red Chip Studios, where he works with a client base consisting of indie artist, from rock, blues, country, jazz and fusion.
Along with producing and operating Red Chip, he is available as a studio or touring drummer. He is dedicated to every performance on stage or in the studio, whether it be jazz, rock, blues, or fusion.
